DIY Personalized Wrapping Paper!

Hey Guys!
As you may know, or are learning, I am obsessed with calligraphy and writing in general - so whenever I am home with nothing to do I grab a pen or some ink and start writing! I just received some christmas gifts in the mail and had some solid wrapping paper I found for free at a garage sale (complete score!) but I didn't want to go for the super simple style of wrapping this year so I thought of adding some calligraphy (of course!).
It was SUPER easy, all you need is a sharpie, some wrapping paper, and a bit of inspiration- so let's begin!
Just like any gift, you want to start by measuring out your wrapping paper so you don't go overboard with the writing!
Once you have cut your wrapping paper to the right size, wrap your gift in your wrapping paper to get an idea of where you should start and end with your writing.
You don't have to do this but it is good if you want to write a name in a certain place or to make sure "holiday" is on the front or whatever!
Whenever you start writing on your paper, be sure you are writing on the top part (the opposite side from where you creased your paper, and make sure you are writing well past the creases so you get your writing on the back of your gift, too!
Now start writing!! With such big writing I cannot use a calligraphy pen so you just write in regular cursive and then go back over the words making the lines thicker wherever you make a downstroke! This is important as, it may look weird if you don't do that right....
If you need some inspiration you can look at the image below!
I made this piece filled with lots of different "merry" words so this can help you if you are a beginner in the calligraphy world, you can also just write in whatever handwriting you'd like - OR - you can find tons of calligraphy inspiration on Pinterest!
The nice thing about this paper is that it doesn't leak through but you can see the writing from the other side, this made it easy when making sure I was placing my gift in a spot I liked.

Check the back of your gift to make sure you made it all the way around, you might have to go back and add a few words or a simple design to make your package look full and complete - then enjoy!
You can add bows, string, anything frilly, or leave it just like this! I really love the way a whole bunch of different sayings came out, i'll be doing this one again :)
Thanks for reading!
